CEO, Harbison

David Cochran is the CEO of Harbison, a not-for-profit aged care provider rooted in Australia’s Southern Highlands. He has led Harbison since 2017, bringing a values‑driven leadership style that champions dignity, innovation, and community connection.

Under his leadership, Harbison secured a $27.5 million federal grant, its largest ever, to build a modern 72-bed residential aged care home and dementia respite service in Burradoo. He also spearheaded the launch of a co‑located retirement village in Moss Vale, designed to allow couples to age together regardless of changing care needs.

David’s impact goes beyond infrastructure. He introduced the Cycling Without Age program to Harbison, reflecting his personal commitment to community integration and active ageing. He also championed the adoption of Motiview, immersive cycling technology proven to boost residents’ wellbeing; the initiative has earned Harbison global recognition, including at the 2025 Eldercare Innovation Awards. In parallel, he led a culture‑change project focused on emotional intelligence, investing in staff development and empathy to reshape how care is delivered.
